Re: difference between 10 click and 20 click Anschutz sights

Any Anschutz rear sight no matter the age should fit your 2002 SSP: they haven't changed that standard in decades and the rounded/curved top has never mattered that I know of. For the front, the easiest way to check is to just see if the rear sight will clamp onto the front dovetail: if it does, you...

Options for Centra Adjustable Front Aperture Repair

The adjustable front sight aperture on my Palma gun managed to lose part of the inner bit that provides the adjustable ring in the middle of my last match. Any options for repair, besides just buying a new one?

Re: FWB 800 -- Travel Case Recommendations

+1 for the iM3200 from me, too. It strikes the right balance of length, and can fit cross-ways in the trunk of any sedan on the market. The airlines don't even give you a second glance about it being oversize. The only downside is that since it is so common, you definitely need to add some markings ...

Re: Any stores for ISSF shooting apparel in southern Califor

Elite Shooting Sport, and Joe Hein, the owner, are terrific; but I believe the OP was looking for something a little closer than 1100 miles... :-)

They would be another vendor to get in touch with, though.

Re: Any stores for ISSF shooting apparel in southern Califor

Unfortunately there aren't any stores in or around LA anymore since Creedmoor moved to Alabama. Your friend could likely arrange for Champion's Choice or one of the other vendors to ship items to their hotel while they're in the US, but there isn't a store you can visit to try on items, sadly.

Re: Anschutz 1918 stock question

The stock itself is Right vs. Left Handed. While you can likely swap the grip, you won't be able to switch the cheekpiece to the other side. Also, the stock has a slight offset to the right for a right-handed action, so even if you could swap the cheekpiece it would likely feel fairly weird. In addi...

Re: Anschutz 6702 or 7002 ??

Assuming your current sight is working fine from a mechanical standpoint, the only real advantage of the 7002 sight is the ability to adjust for cant in your position. The ability to bring the elevation and windage knobs back to true vertical and true horizontal is a big advantage when you have the ...

Re: Custom Precision suit time... Recommendations?

I will second everything Joel said, especially the parts about her not being done growing, and the benefits of getting measured by an authorized representative of whoever you decide to get the suit from. I can certainly understand if it's not practical (it wasn't for me, here in San Diego), but at t...

Re: correlation between 50yd outdoor and 50ft indoor 3-P

I shoot a lot of A-51s in training, and a lot of A-23s in competition. Typically your A-23 Xs are A-51 10s, 10s are 9s, 9s are 8/7, etc.

That's, of course, a rough estimate, but it should give you an idea of what to expect.

Re: 1918 Anschutz Precise Stock - Pistol Grip Large vs Mediu

I have small to medium size hands but use the large grip. When I tried both side by side the only real differance was that the small was thinner than the large (think 0 vs O), it wasnt smaller in length front to rear. I preferred the large and have even added material to it to try and make it more ...

I can grab measurements at the match this weekend. I have a large, and several people have mediums at my club.

Re: Blinder for non-aimaing eye for scope shooting

I just use the same glasses that I wear for shooting irons. If your scope is setup correctly for your position, you should have the scope eyepiece in pretty much the same place as your iron sight iris, and if you need a corrective lens for irons, you should probably also be using one for scope. That...

Re: 300m Free rifle

You can leave the butt-hook on for NRA Mid-Range and Long-Range matches. You'll get some looks and even a person or two to challenge you, since most last looked at a rule book in 1983, but the rules now specifically allow them for Any Rifle matches (which most Mid/Long matches are). At Camp Perry i...

Re: 300m Free rifle

Almost as importantly is where do you shoot it? Are there any matches in America? NRA Mid-Range matches (or long range, depending on your chosen caliber/desire of wind challenge), are certainly open to you, too. Just gotta take the butt hook off before you lie down to those! If you are referencing ...

Re: 300m Free rifle

You could also just use your existing Precise stock: John Whidden, owner of Whidden Gunworks, shot Barnard mounted in a Precise stock this year when he won the NRA Long Range Championships. TheDrifter here on TargetTalk also has a "BAT-schutz" in 6mmBR: a BAT 3L (or maybe 3LL?) mounted in ...
