Re: Air Pistol for 10m

I shot Metallic silhouette. While ago, at the beginning of my shooting carrier, i used to also shot airgun MS Silhouette. The skills were directly transferred from airgun to 22. Scores grew on both with the same rate. So the usefulness of airgun practice for at least small-bore gun is evident.

Re: Air Pistol for 10m

The point was that semiauto airpistol is useful not only for SF practice, but for a full match experience with timed/rapid fire stages.

Re: Air Pistol for 10m

What, precisely, would be the attraction of a 1911-like grip to a shooter who is comfortable (physically and mentally it seems) with a very 1911-unlike Pardini? Its all about having options and flexibility. If you are comfortable with Euro style grips, don't change it. If you prefer 1911 style, the...

Re: Air Pistol for 10m

Take a look at Steyr LP5 or LP50. Those can be useful in rapid/timed fire training. Trigger can be switched to 500g and 1911 style grips are available. Easy to fill from the pump and allow 100+ shots per charge. Used can fit in your budget. As is without grip/trigger modification has the same feel a...

Re: .45 options that aren't 1911 or similar grip angle?

I'd like to start up in bullseye, but man I hate 1911s and their grip angle. Are there any competitive guns that have a greater angle, i.e. similar to a Glock? Go to http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php and take a long hard look at CZ97B. Its 45 ACP gun with Cajun Gun Works upgrades. The best ergonom...

Re: Cheaper .45 alternatives

Difference in weight between 5 x 22LR and 5 X 45ACP rounds is very substantial. In 22LR pistols weight of 5 rounds is negligible small compared to the total pistol weight and can be ignored. Counter-balancing the variable front weight between 1 x 45ACP and 5 x 45 ACP dynamically during emptying the ...

Will LP5 upgraded to PCP do? The only difference between this pistol and LP50 is the older barrel shroud style.
I live in SF Valey (LA area). You welcome to stop by and try any of (many) airguns i have.

sounds like fun. Do you have to be an NRA member to participate? It is a NRA sanction match, but you don't have to be a NRA member to participate. Just come over and bring your airguns with you. If you don't have any, shooters will let you use theirs in the open relays. Come early (8:30-9:00 AM) so...

bobcatsofi,

would you like to try your airpistol skills with metallic silhouette shooting?
There will be a match this Saturday at LA Silhouette Club (Angeles Shooting Ranges). Details and directions at http://shadetreeshooters.org

I would understand the objection to BB guns related to ricochets of steel BBs, but I haven't heard any objections to shooting lead pellets.

I go to Firing Line in Northridge.
I don't usually bring air pistols there because I shoot them in my backyard and at the silhouette club matches, but the time's I did, I never had a problem shooting it there.

I've shot AP at Angeles Shooting Ranges and Firing Line (Indoor ranges).
Never heard words "not permitted". Other shooters (with loud guns) will give you that supremacy look (you know that "look-down" look), but other then that you are allowed to shot AP as well as a firearms.

I've prepared few NIB IZH-46M for myself and friends.
All of them needed just a good wipe outside, bore cleaning with pull-through patches (CLP or Goo-Gone), screws checked, trigger adjusted, grip modified and adjusted before they ready for shooting.

Patent documents are dated 1963-1964. Last name of the author is not readable (4-5 char). First/middle name, from what I can tell, is Vladimir Anatolievich (or Leonidovich or Davidovich)? Patent was awarded to the individual, not to the company and registered in Russian Federation. Lower documents a...
