Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?

Just as a side note to all of this. The CCI SV lots that I have also chamber hard ( go in about 1/2 way and need a thumb push to seat) in my S&W 617 revolver, the majority of them will NOT drop in the cylinder on their own. Too bad because now I have a little under 2 cases of practice ammo. Shoo...

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?

I measured a box of 50 and they range from a small of .2231" to a large of .2245" Lot# F13W89 The other lot # D07V51 ranges from a small of .2228" to a large of .2245" for 50 What I have not done is to mic the cases about 2/3 of the way down where they seem to hang up and see if ...

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?

When every other ammo chambers and CCI SV doesn't I'm sorry to brake the news but it's the CCI SV ammo. Everybody has lapses in QC even CCI. I have used CCI SV for decades and never had a problem until I got two different lots that where made in the so called "ammo shortage". Just the fact...

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?

I have the same problem with my Hamden HS even with a replacement LSP barrel. Use to shoot CCI SV all the time but I have 2 new cases of different lots that will chamber only 1/2 way in either barrel. Can't get by a NM course without an alibi. My HS will chamber Wolf, SK, Eley and RWS and plunk test...

Re: High Standard Citation Barrel from Brownells (or others?

I use the LSP Match all steel barrel and it's more accurate than I can hold. Some guys like the aluminum version with the lighter weight.

About the same price as the factory HS barrel and of known quality. Available at Brownells

Re: Dillon 550/650 powder measure

I got a new powder baffle from "Big Bike Parts" for my 650 Dillon and it works tremendously as far as an accurate throw. I get + - 1/10 or less.

I'm far from an expert on these things but I do have a HS (Hamden) and the trigger is just about the best I have shot on a 22. Barrels (Hamden) are pretty darn good too!

Re: mitchell high standard citation ii barrells???

If it's a push button take down barrel you can get either Volquartsen or LSP barrels.

I have a LSP barrel on one of my HS and it shoots great at about 1/2 the cost of similar Volquartsen barrels

Available at Brownell's too

Re: 1911 Recoil Spring w/Slide Mounted Red Dot

Try it wit your 16# spring first. My setup was with a 30mm UltraDot slide mounted and it worked sometimes with a 16# spring but went with a 14# spring to get better reliability.

Guy on my BE team has one mounted on a S&W 52 and seems to like it. But they are pricey compared to the regular UltraDot.

I have manually cycled many rounds through the gun and they seem to climb the ramp with no problem. It looks like the rounds stay away from the edges and run in the center of the ramp. That said as I am hand ejecting, all of the rounds eject nicely except 90% of the time the last round hangs up in ...

What make of 230 grain ball are you using and have you tried different types?

I reload 230 FMJ Hornady over 4.2 of TiteGroup in Federal cases and get great accuracy out of my Kart barrel.

You can put the CMM steel/aluminum plates under your grips for some added thickness (and protection from a round firing out of battery. I've used the .063 and to me they added quite a bit of thickness. For my BE gun I use Dick Horton grips, ball gun gets the spacers. http://www.cmmshootingsports.com...

I sometimes have (had) the same problem with my 41. The solution, at least for me, was to check the safety was off AFTER I got my grip. The safety on mine is hard to move but I unintentionally hit it sometimes with the knuckle at the base of my thumb and flip it on and I wouldn't notice it or feel i...
