Re: Cheating at ISSF Olympic Qualification Championship 2024
Do gloves have to meet the stiffness standard of 7.5.2.2? If so, how is it measured? Gloves are mentioned as clothing under 7.5.1.1 and it states that the material must be flexible so I assume that it must meet the stiffness test. I doubt the plastic like material most shooters have on the back of t...

Hammerli 104 free pistol sighting-in problem
I have an old free pistol question. I have a Hammerli 104 that is shooting about a foot high at 50 yards with the rear sight as low as it will go. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did they fix it? Anyone have suggestions on how to (best?, easiest?) increase the front sight height? Any help w...

Re: WTS: USA50 score plugs
The plugs look real nice but I do have a question. What is the shape of the outer edge of the scoring "surface"? From the first picture it looks like it might be slightly rounded such that it might only give a proper reading if you are looking exactly straight down from above. If rounded (...

It's not the weight, it's the stiffness.

FWB 300S (sort of) problem
I have a Chinese knock-off of a FWB 300S. The last time I used it, which was a number of years ago, it worked pretty well. Recently I had it out and wanted to look at the condition of the breech seals so I pulled the cocking arm all the way back. Now it is solidly locked in the open position. No mat...

Re: Club/youth smallbore rifle options
Remington 540XR and 540XRJR are sort of like a CM-2. I prefer them. To improve the gun you can switch out the Williams rear with a Redfield. I even have changed out the Lyman front with an old 18mm Anschutz with the appropriate height base to give a wider range of available front apertures. Of cours...

In women's 3x20 50m smallbore rifle, Sagen tied the women's world record and set a new PAG record with a 596 (K-198, P-200, S-198 {with a 100 last series!!!})

Anschutz 1907/1912 trigger adjustment
I have several 1907/1912 rifles used by my college team. Yesterday, I had a shooter that was able to shoot one shot and then the sear would not engage. I tried to adjust the screw that the manual says controls the engagement, but to no avail. Now, no matter what I try, I cannot get it to work. Any s...

FWB Models 2, C5, C10, C55, & C60 cylinder availability
Is there a source of new CO2 cylinders for FWB Models 2, C5, C10, C55 and/or C60?
None of mine have failed. Have replaced the seals on a few.
Most are still working fine, some after almost 30 years.
Just trying to find some that are legal for USAS, CMP and SASP competitions.

Old shooting jackets and pants
Looking for a recommendation on what to do with pretty old shooting jackets and pants. Would these be of any use to anyone or should I just trash them? I have black leather outside with canvas inside ISU style 10X and Hawkeye brand jackets from the 1970's and 1980's. (used) Also, some heavy 10X coat...

Re: BG international pistol?? And Britarms pistol questions
Only experience with model 2000 is that I bought one at auction in 2004. It has been sitting in my safe since then. Got it out recently just to test fire it. The only thing I can say is that the top feeding design is terrible when you need to clear a misfire or a jam. Seems to me that the gun is pre...

I instruct my students to never shoot from a full can. Always transfer about 100 pellets to an empty can and use that.

Re: Arnie Vitarbo
Terrible loss to the shooting community. Arnie was a great pistol shot. He and wife Fujie were great friends to all those that knew them. I had the privilege of working with them both as volunteers at numerous championships. Arnie made some great pistol grips; still have a few. https://www.ssusa.org...

Re: uncalled rules violations??
Would that make the two above in the photo also in violation as their visor has branding on it? That is my understanding of the rules. When I was an equipment control officer at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 anyone with anything other than a national emblem (e.g. flag) or the emblem of their NGB on t...

Re: uncalled rules violations??
Gold medalist in 25m men's rapid pistol was wearing a cap with a Beretta logo on the front in the finals at the World Cup. This is clearly a violation. No interpretation needed. Rule 4.5.1 Additional restrictions for ISSF Championships ...... No manufacturer or sponsor identification is permitted on...
