Air Pistol Matches in Virginia

Just moved to Virginia and was looking for air pistol matches. Anything available open to the public?

LP10 Rear Sight Removal

I need to remove the rear sight on my LP10, but wanted to check with someone who has done it before first. Looking at the expanded view in the manual it is hard to tell if the whole unit comes off in one piece. It looks like if I unscrew the "screw for sight plate", #49 in the parts list, ...

Rules for Attaching Weight to an Air Pistol

Are their any rules about attaching weight to an air pistol? For example, can you attach weight using double-back tape? I could not find anything in the rule book, but I seem to recall somebody saying that anything added had to be permanently attached. Thanks.

Travelling on Airplane with an Air Pistol

Can anybody give me advice about travelling on an airplane with an air pistol? Is special paperwork needed. Can I use a regular lock or do I have to use a TSA lock when checking it? What about the air cylinders? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

GSP Spring

I took a couple of springs out of pens and cut them down to 14 mm. It was a little tough keeping the spring compressed while sliding the sight onto the pistol. As a matter of fact, LOL, the spring shot out again once and I had to look for 5 minutes to find it. But now it's together and ready to be s...

GSP Spring

Thanks all for the responses. mld, thanks for the dimensions. I should be able to get close now. I'll try putting it back on Saturday and let you know how it works.

Walther GSP Expert Rear Sight Assembly

While removing the rear sight of my Walther GSP Expert to install a scope rail for bullseye, I had a brain fart and the small spring shot across my workshop never to be found again. So I have several questions. (1) Does anyone know where I can get a replacement spring or have the dimensions of the s...

Here's a comparison. Earlier in the year I was shooting my .22 in a bullseye league one day a week and practicing about 3 days a week. I had blood work done in April and asked the doctor to check my lead level. It came back very high - double the upper exposure limit. I took off 4 months from shooti...

I know I should have checked eye dominance first thing, but whether it was CRS or something else I skipped over it and went right to stance, NPA, grip, etc. This is an interesting story. This 18 y/o young man has only shot AP 3 times now. I have him doing a lot of dry firing, of course, but to keep ...

Right-Handed but Left Eye Dominant

I'm helping a student get started in shooting AP and he is right-handed, but it turns out that he is left eye dominant. Are there any special considerations that need to addressed for this situation? Never encountered this before.

LP-10 Trigger Adjustment

Right now I have factory settings on my LP-10. I would like to increase the first stage weight while maintaining the overall trigger pull weight. The manual doesn't explain adjustment real well. Am I correct in assuming I increase the screw for trigger pull force and then decrease the screw for the ...

Fairly new to international pistol so I'm still trying to work a number of things out. Didn't have these issues with the UltraDot :). I normally wear bifocals (Arghh) so I had a pair of glasses made with the non-shooting eye focused at distance and the shooting eye focused at the front sight. I can ...

Using an Iris

I was wondering how many people use an iris for AP competition. I tried a friend's over the weekend and was suprised at the difference it made. Also, for use with regular glasses, is there a preference between the flip-up type and the suction cup type?

Screws were 3 mm. Went to the local hobby store (good place to get small metric screws and bolts) and got some 3 mm Allen bolts. Head thickness on the Allen bolts is between 2.5 mm and 3 mm so they are great for the back two adjusting screws as you can visually tell that you have the minimum 2.5 mm ...

Chris, Rob, Thanks for the replies. I measured the angle of my Mod 41 grip and it was roughly 15 degrees(from perpendicular to barrel). With adjusting the LP 10, I had it's grips to approximately 25 degrees. I'll tell you, when it comes to grips, 10 degrees is a lot! Chris - Do you happen to remembe...

I did shim it a bit, Fred, but probably didn't go further than backing the screws out to the max. Didn't seem to have a very good seat once you started going too far. Maybe wedge-shaped shims would work better. I'll have to see if that gets me far enough. Thanks...........JJ
