Pilkington had several 84E's about a year ago. I bought one from Scott for (I think?) $1,200. Range of prices $1k-$1,200 depending on condition.

Re: Standard scoring system

PirateJohn is CORRECT! Integer scores for pistol. Pistol: No one has ever scored a "perfect" 600. MAP: WR=594; Jr. WR=588. WAP: WR=591; Jr. WR=585. American record = 591. Rifle: Routinely see 60 scores, all 10.0+; even the CMP matches, you'll see "600" regularly. (Go ARMY ladies!...

Re: Compact LP400 with standard cylinder??

1. Affect Accuracy? Probably not. Slight difference in weight/mass, inconsequential. On the converse, I'll attached a compact cylinder to a full-length Steyr EVO & then add a couple of the 5-gram "ballasts" close to the action. Again, inconsequential. 2. Rules? If it fits in "The ...

Re: Custom titanium firing pins?

There is a misconception about titanium alloys. They are much softer than steel alloy, they have a much lower tensile strength. Confirmed! Young's modulus typical steel = 190-215 GPa Young's modulus pure titanium = 120 GPa This value represents the material's stiffness or ability to resist deformat...

Here's some raw data from CMP this morning. (Steyr EVO10): Terminal velocity at target from the new machines indicating 489ft/sec. We then chrony'd same pistol, same pellets at the muzzle - consistently 531 ft/sec. ; with the 8.2 grain pellets. Interesting, didn't think there'd be a 40fps decline fr...

With the new electronic targets at CMP- Anniston: The system now measures and reports pellet velocity at target. (Don't know if it will calculate average velocity for 60 shots - I didn't fiddle with it enough today.) RESULTS with 8.2 grain R-10 RWS "Rifle" pellets: Range of velocity from: ...
