Re: Getting Varga 3000s

So I got my trial lenses tonight. They are the typical Chinese ones. The power tab is attached to a metal ring by means of a set screw. Here's a pic of them disassembled so you can see. http://i.imgur.com/8bharpK.jpg?1 I mounted it in the 37mm lens holder for a varga 3000. They are ever so slightly ...

Re: Getting Varga 3000s

If you go on ebay you can usually order single trial lenses. I found one of the people breaking up sets to sell for jewelry and asked them to pull specific powers. Like $2 a lens. Since they are 38mm OD with the frames I'm hoping it fits in the 37mm lens holders. Just ordered my Rx +0.25,+0.50,+0.75...

Re: Scoring AP - Mystery Shots

On good quality paper you can see faint scalloping with 2nd and 3rd shots. The biggest problem for me is when paper get shot out between holes. Then it gets really tough to tell. I find my targetscan app helps a lot too as you can look at the target under high magnification and it provides a round m...

I use targetscan too. Its great. A little picky on backlighting sometimes, but works great for what it does.

Re: Scoring Analysis

I wouldn't get used to having a contrasting center dot, especially if you ever plan on shooting a 'real' competitions. Having a smaller center would make it easier to line up a shot I'd think. At least with standard open sights. Where are you doing postal matches? They must have some pretty relaxed ...

Re: Is there US Duty and taxes charged on imported airguns?

I'd avoid UPS if possible. They always have excessive brokerage fees. USPS (or whatever national carrier) is what I tend to use. I had a gun returned to sender with UPS I think maybe they mistook it for a real firearm? In any case every time I've used them for international shipping the experience h...

Yah, if you're supporting some of the faster higher caliber air rifles you might as well support rimfire. Though I imagine the ventilation requirements might be a bit different.

Re: Setting up an air sports club, what would people like to

I think it's worth thinking about what your demographic is going to be. Do you think you'll really have enough serious competition shooters to keep the lights on? Are you drawing in powder burner shooters who want a cheap way to practice? Do you think you're going to have a large junior shooter comp...

Re: Inside a Steyr LP1-P Aluminum CO2 Cylinder @ 25 years..(

I have seen inside Air cylinders that have been refilled by scuba and pumps. Almost without exception the Air cylinders filled by scuba showed very little to no corrosion whereas the ones filled by hand pump developed corrosion more quickly and progressed rapidly. I remember Ulrich Eichstadt ( Walt...

Re: Camera spotter to phone app

If its just your own range you could always get a cheap IPcam and put it right next to the target. Just open whatever app or webpage it normal displays on.
