Bull Gazing

Fellows. Any "tips" to eliminate "bull gazing"? I seem to have this problem that I can spend countless seconds "perfecting" my sight picture with no positive outcome. On the other hand if I dont "bull gaze", my head tells me I'm executing the shot waaay to qui...

Scatt and using the Buzzer to indicate 9 and 10 ring

Fellows. I "found" that you can turn on a buzzer that will sound when you are in the 9 and/or 10 ring while using my Scatt. I think its a tool for use by disabled shooters. I turned the buzzer on and found that my time "acquiring" a centered up shot and pulling the trigger has be...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

KH250. Thank you for posting ...and explaining your traces. I better understand the trace(s) movement AND how the trace speed factor comes into effect. I've been "switching up" various items the past couple of shooting sessions. Probably not a good idea but I'm looking to see if any of the...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

I,m considering getting a Scatt. Does the Basic work well or should I get a USB version ? Thanks Scott Scott.....As you can tell I'm new to the Scatt Trainer. Fellow shooters (NRA/CMP XTC mostly) I know have them... and swear by them. I won't go into the the reasons (practicing reasons) why I purch...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

Fellows. Can't tell you all how much I appreciate your input. I do believe that this (Scatt) "investment" will be a great tool for me. KH250... You mention that straight lines are not usually good at the time of release. Should I assume then that the yellow line then followed by the blue l...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

Fellows. I attempted to get a screen shot of one of my "shots" as I have a question about the trace. I couldn't figure out how to do that so I used PAINT to make a quick drawing and attached it to this post. I fired a final 10 round string tonite and "observed" something that see...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

KH250. Thank you for your input. This is all new to me, but so far I am enjoying the use of my Scatt even though I'm stumbling thru the learning process. Not so much the "shooting" aspect as it is learning the "controls" of the machine so as to get the most out of this trainer. Y...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

Fellows. Thank you all for offering the support that you have given. I'm finding that I am not so hesitant to "adjust" the (default ?) settings on my Scatt....even if Im uncertain of the outcome. Question. This evening I "shot" 3 10 round strings (offhand) onto a blank (no bull) ...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

Rick. Thank you. I suspect I will be asking more questions as time goes on using my Scatt. Another newbie question. When I "fire" a shot the "bang/kboom/report" I hear from my laptop that is running my Scat program is much delayed. I pull the trigger, hear the "hammer" ...

Re: SCATT data interpretation & usage links

Recently purchased a Scatt USB unit. I'm practicing O/H NRA High Power. The room Im practicing in a room only allows me a distance of 5.5 meters 'tween the target and my rifle/sensor. I am having an issue with the bullet impact on display screen (laptop) being a noticeable distance from the "bl...

Re: Neck tension in prone position

Tim. You mention to the OP about jacket "issues". One "thing" I have found is that my CMP/NRA XTC jacket is rather...."bulky" in the area of the top of the shoulder. Thus....when in the prone position the "bulkiness" of the jacket causes the rifle to "pus...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Thanks for your input TIm. I've bedded rifles before and feel confident that I can successfully do the "wood work" on this gun. Any suggestions of a manufacture of the metal work items.... ie for the adjustable checkpiece and buttplate? I am leaning toward the items produced by Graco as th...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Fellows: I "think" I've figured out my neck/shoulder "discomfort" issue. The rifle I was using is one that I had "setup to shoot prone, slung up with metallic sights. For the match that I shot in, I removed the sights and install the "old school" Lyman Target maste...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Fellows: Been months since I originally posted about my H/S "issue" and wanted to post some follow up after shooting a 1200 metric match.... first time ever. Also the second time out with the "new" H/S. Bottom line.... whatever "grinding" on the new $40 H/S to get it to...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Tim S. Thanks....good to know. I was hoping this $40 H/S is bias to the left as I "think" that's a "issue" I'm having. On my AR Service Rifle which I use in NRA/CMP events, there is no H/S. On a coulpe other Match rifles the H/S is just a 1/4" thick maybe 1" round knurl...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Mikey_P Thanks for your efforts. I'm going to order a "Freeland" style unit from Champion Shooters Supply. The cost is $40 and see how it "fits" my hand. Heck I've spent more on "gun stuff" that occupies my hobbyroom shelves.

Thanks all.

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Mike_P. Good info. Can/Could the "sliding" part (stud???) of the "foreign" H/S be "ground down" to fit into the "american" rail that is on the m12? I was out to the range this morning and again found my current H/S causing the "issues" that Martin de...

Re: Handstops, Mine is "killing" me

Thanks Tim. I looked at a couple of the different H/S I have. Installed them onto the rail and got into the prone position with them (no glove). As my hand slid up to contact them I "see" that they first make contact with my knuckle of my pointy finger. At this point the rifle is "lay...
