Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

Thanks for the comparison pics. Mine (SN starting with 115...) most closely resembles the first, "beveled", and the rim is even all-around with no ramp or obvious relief. I shoot SK Pistol Match almost exclusively in it. Before the polishing work, rounds would frequently shave lead or jam ...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

... In 2009, they changed the chamber design to include a significant radius. I've never seen one, but I suspect they basically added a bit of a feed ramp to the lower edge of the chamber. My MP90S was bought in 2016 (date code = "CP" same year), it had very little radius and no visible r...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

If the pin doesn't stick out too much, the bevel on the tip usually takes care of pushing the pin back into the bolt. I don't know that I have ever seen a pistol misbehave due to dirt build up in the firing pin channel, but it's certainly possible. In my case, the rounds failed to chamber properly,...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!

Firing pin protrusion is definitely a problem! In my experience, it generally prevents the rising round from seating in the "pocket" at the front of the bolt. The rim bumps into the pin and everything goes haywire. This has happened to me if I let stuff build up in the firing pin channel, ...

Can you tell us the version that your newly-updated version now displays in the About tab? Thanks!

Re: SCATT help

Curious, which update? Earlier you said you tried all available versions. I'd love to hear which version worked (and which didn't!).

Re: SCATT help

If you're using any recent version of Windows (i.e. Win10/Win11), you don't need to install drivers, they're already inbox. You might want to uninstall the Scatt-provided driver package, in fact.

Lighting is key. Not too much, not too little. Warm white and broad spectrum lighting is best, as well.

Re: AP and best friends?

Absolutely yes. For ours, it seemed to get worse with age, which we attributed to her reduced hearing. Certain noises, or the anticipation of certain noises (thunder meant the crack of approaching lightning) made it much worse. A useful way to reduce the noise is to hold the pistol inside a row of d...

Did you find a solution to your missing extractor? I did locate my drawings with dimensions but for some reason I did it on large-format graph paper so it's hard to scan.

Re: Benelli MP90S World Cup????? parts

The pin is easy, it's 2.5mm diameter, 13mm long and has a half-round cut at the forward end. You can make it from the shank of a #40 drill bit. https://www.redfeatheroutfitters.com/ (Cardinal) may have some in stock, they did recently in fact, but alas, no extractors at the time. Worth a call. I mad...

Re: .22 Ammo For Free Pistols That Won't Stick in Chamber?

I have not tried Aguila, no. Some shooters at my range don't have many nice things to say about it, one shooter got 10 boxes of rifle match in a brick box labeled pistol match, it shoots flames from his Ruger, while failing to cycle reliably.

Re: .22 Ammo For Free Pistols That Won't Stick in Chamber?

Sure, no worries. I'll say however that I can not detect any lube on the Auto Match. Perhaps there's the thinnest possible coat of some sort of antioxidant, but it's literally grey-white lead and nothing wipes off. It leaves nothing in the revolver cylinder, which gooped up in under 50 rounds with S...

Re: .22 Ammo For Free Pistols That Won't Stick in Chamber?

Doug, I'm not sure if you noticed my post before that I've been shooting Federal Auto Match in my revolver with great results. It's on the shelf at many places for cheap, too. A friend nearby (Marlboro) has 7 325-bulk boxes in fact which I'm sure he'd love to sell you, even cheaper. ... I recently b...

Re: .22 Ammo For Free Pistols That Won't Stick in Chamber?

... I find that I get a build up of grease/wax in the chamber that tends to make both seating and extracting difficult and annoying. So, before a match or practice session, I tip my rounds into a rag and roll them around to clean most of the wax off. Doing this leads to faultless operation. This. I...

Re: Weight Added to the Palm Rest

The only reason I'd consider that is if the pistol is otherwise incorrectably nose-heavy. It would never be designed that way, but perhaps if you have added an optic and it has to sit far forward, etc. Generally, I want my pistol to balance at a point just ahead of the trigger, that is, slightly nos...

Re: question about AV-46m (IZH-46m)

My AV-46M does not cock when extending the pumping lever. It raises the bolt about halfway, but nowhere near fully cocked, the air valve typically isn't even closed. I just cock it by hand, leave it raised, then load and close the bolt. This has the side benefit of keeping the bolt seals away from t...
