Re: 3 d Printed Grips.

Andrew Berryhill is a good guy to work with. If you're not mechanically inclined, he can still explain things in a way that is understandable, and will work to make sure you get the grip you need (he can even send you pictures and parts he needs measurements from by using auto CAD). We worked on my ...

Re: Recommended Trigger or Gun Lock?

Secured lockingdevice is defined elsewhere in that rule set. secure locking device means a device (a) that can only be opened or released by the use of an electronic, magnetic or mechanical key or by setting the device in accordance with an alphabetical or numerical combination; and (b) that, when a...

Re: Just restarting, suggestions for exercises?

Every once in a while Rover comes up with a good idea. http://targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=46778&p=222116 I laughed pretty hard. My wife still doesn't think it's funny, but serves her right for looking over my shoulder. When you say "box of rags," how many rags are we talkin...

Just restarting, suggestions for exercises?

Howdy, I'm just picking the pistol back up after about half a year hiatus. I am not a natural. I did not do this growing up, and my scores before were not good (sub 500). I have a Steyr EVO 10 mechanical and live in a new house. I had the pleasure of having an extremely generous forum member let me ...

Re: Lighter Air Pistols - The Wave Of The Future?

As a reminder for you proponents of bullpup designs, don't forget Rule 8.4.1.1.a Neither the grip nor any part of the pistol may be extended or constructed in any way that would allow it to touch beyond the hand. The wrist must remain visibly free when the pistol is held in the normal firing positio...

Re: Steyr or Morini to buy

For anyone who reads this thread in the future, here's the current state of advice. All modern pistols work. Do you have access to a store that sells them? If so, take the opportunity to feel them in your hand...but take a trigger weight, if you can. I've heard stories about SWEET TRIGGERS being a l...

Re: Arm/shoulder exercises or not?

I agree with 97nick. As someone who just attempted to do a set of pistol lifts with a heavier pistol and nearly came out of it with a case of tendonitis, be mindful of your limits. The muscles in the wrist and hand are not at all like biceps or triceps and improving their ability to flex and abduct ...

Re: Getting back into the AP game, trying to decide what to

Whatever you get, make sure you have a system to test the trigger pull. I've heard stories from a few friends who have purchased guns that had "very nice triggers" that turned out to be a little TOO nice (as in under 500g). Not naming names, because it could have just been a mistake or som...

Re: Getting back into the AP game, trying to decide what to

David's advice is spot on. I personally don't think electronic triggers are very useful (based on my background as a pipe organist where there was a lot of debate about this type of thing), but if you think it helps, get it. Do you have a scuba tank/hand pump, SCATT, or a target shooting area already?

Re: Practice pellet recommendation and source

I have never understood the concept of spending big money on a gun and, over the course of a few years, even more money travelling to and entering competitions, and then not feeding the gun with the very best lead that I can. I want to know that the position of every hole, good or bad, is the resul...

Re: Practice pellet recommendation and source

RWS Basic a match pellet? What a shock! You know, I don't understand why people are willing to pay so much for a bunch of little identical lead pellets that are JUST THAT LITTLE BIT MORE ACCURATE. Or so advertised. I've shot enough to realize that most of my issues with accuracy are (a) mine, or (b...

However, I would feel a great amount of joy if I were able to win with an older model match air pistol. The look of awe and jaw-dropping of your competitors is priceless! You know, if Don Nygord himself stepped out of the mists of time and shot next to me on the firing line with an older pistol, I ...

Off topic, but David, if you ever move to the United States, go to law school and get an L.L.M. in taxation. We need people like you to fix our tax code. I'm 100% serious.

Review of Precision Target Grip for Steyr Evo 10

So I have been using my steyr evo 10 for about half a year now. I have monstrously large hands, as I have mentioned a few times on this board. After the first three months, I figured out that my groupings were inconsistent, and that it was most likely based on my hold of a grip (Large RH) that did n...

Odd. Those ISBNs don't appear on worldcat.org either, which means that no serious public library in any English speaking country has them. I tried them with and without the dashes. By contrast, GWhite's came up (nearest location: Hong Kong) instantly. Where did you get them from? Corrected ISBNs: 97...

Re: Scatt calibration question

I've had a few calibration issues, though not this specific one. Since SCATT uses infrared beams, it has, in my experience, been affected by heat and cold sources. You might want to make sure that there isn't anything blowing in between you and the unit. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Someone more exper...
