Re: Which recoil springs for Clark longslides

I'd start with a std 5" spring( wolff or ISMI) of 10 or 11lbs.

Wofford makes a long spring for the 6" pistols that you can cut to length. Thin wire.

What did Clark use in the 70 and 80s ??.simply a cut down stock spring

Re: The "other" spring folks don't talk about much

I routinely run 10-11 l recoil springs in my wad guns with no ill affects.. i run 3.9 BE at the LL but change to WST for.all my short line loads. WST has a very different recoil impulse..much softer than BE. Try it you'll like it. Typically WST requires around 3 more grains that BE for a similar loa...

Re: Recommendations of gunsmith for 1911 in SF bay area?

Any bullseye Smith can do a 2.5lb trigger on a 1911 and it will be totally safe.. i do my own roll triggers and have several 38 spl and 38 super 1911 with them.. in Ca, Try Jon Eulette. Dave Salyer is a fine Smith located in SC.. with our modern sears and hammers its not rocket science..

Re: Bullseye rules--Optics question

All time record score in competition for BE was set with iron sights Hershal Anderson. Score was 2680 out of a possible 2700 Scary good. There have been folks close with dots but no one has even tied him yet. So the dots are not necessarily better but they do allow you to see your errors more clearl...

Re: Bullseye rules--Optics question

Not sure when the rule changed but the 1st national champion in BE using one was 80-81. Joe Pascarella

That really got folks attention as not many people were using them.. rule change was probably 77-78..I was shooting the nationals during those years

Re: comparing the Listone Victor and the Alfa Proj?

Yes Alpha grips will fit but may need a touch of work.. I have the Co2 version and got some of the Alpha wooden adjustable grips for it in a co2 configuration. had to modify the grip a bit as the CO2 chamber is a bit different.. but it worked out fine

Re: comparing the Listone Victor and the Alfa Proj?

we have both the Listone victor in Co2 and the LAP1 in Air.. both have been very reliable.. Pressure is adjustable on both.. the LAP1 is pretty much a Walther copy as Walther grips fit perfectly once you get their adjustable arm for the grips.. Trigger is setup like the Walthers. Both shoot very wel...

Re: Hammerli Xesse

should be a screw on the inside of the frame(grip area) that holds the Slide stop and spring. Maybe a allen but still a small screw.. Look at the X-esse diagram on the Walther web site for a parts break down. https://www.carl-walther.com/fileadmin/uploads/media/partsdrawings/Hämmerli_x-esse_2773473_...

Re: Hammerli Xesse

look at slightly tightening up the slide stop.. it has a Torx screw you can access with the grips off through the frame... it needs to be firm against the frame yet free enough for the Mag spring to push it up and lock the slide back are these new magazines.. load the Mags one round at a time, pulli...

If you do any serious pistol work you're going to use those large heavy.tools... i currently have 2 mills and 2 lathes for pistol and rifle work. Also a tig welder And lots of hand tools specific to the 1911. If you are going to have a pistol that shoots a maximum of 1.5" at 50 yds you have a l...
