Re: Rapid fire target history?

Thank you everyone! That's the history lesson I was looking for. I shoot a Smith Wesson Model 14-2 (previously K38) for centerfire. I wanted to put the record below in perspective. No doubt it was impressive shooting (297 slowfire!), but not quite the current 595 (ISSF) / 597 (CISM) records of today...

Rapid fire target history?

At my club, I found some old yellow targets, with large oval scoring rings... I questioned the (really) old guys and they told me they used those "back in the day" for the rapid-fire stage of center-fire pistol. Are they talking about ISSF (ISU) 25m center-fire pistol? If so, when did the ...

Re: Definition of a "firearm"

As for your efforts to change the law so we can import whatever air pistol without silly restrictions, BRAVO! Is a single-shot Olympic air pistol such a threat to public safety when it fires a pellet at 505 fps that it requires CRIMINAL code provisions? I'm more worried about chainsaws. re: Canada. ...

Salut,
I know one or two Matchgun shooters that used to be at the RA. That's where I shoot. Maybe I can connect you. Send me your email by PM and I will relay it to them.

Re: Anyone ordered from Cibles Canada Targets

I live 5 minutes from Jocelyn. My club buys several thousand targets from him each year. All the local ISSF shooters visit him for supplies, some driving as much as 6 hours for a visit. He's a true gentleman.

Re: Why doesnt .22 wadcutters exist?

I often shoot 36-grain hollow-point Winchester for practice. They cut a much cleaner hole, like a wadcutter.

If its reliability is as good as its looks, this is a winner! I think it looks great.

Much appreciated! The functionality is there, without all the visual clutter. Win-win. Well done! It's great that you care about this site and try to provide the functionality that people request.

I agree. The "(f) share" button duplicated between each post is an eye sore.

Re: Wonderful news ! New FAS standard pistol !

How good were these FAS pistols when they were being made? How would they rate against modern Pardini, FWB and Walther?

I'm new to this. While having more choice seems like a good thing, I wonder what these could offer that's not already available with established brands.

Re: targetshooting.ca post matches cancelled?

Patrick was probably busy with the Toronto Air Gun Grand Prix. I'll shoot him an email to see if we can wake him up. It would be a shame if we lost that postal match engine... It has quite a few regulars. Update: his Twitter seems to indicate he's now off to the Canadian Winter Games... This is a bu...

Because this thread would be useless without pics... Here's what the pistol looked like in a video from two years ago.

Re: Sight picture

I was shooting 6-o'clock for the past year, and switched to center mass 2 weeks ago. I'll try it for a few months before deciding. So far, my results are a bit lower, but it should get back up once I get used to it. What's better? It depends... In slow fire, I tend to prefer 6-o'clock as it's easier...

Re: singing in your head makes better shooting?

Didn't they start playing music at high-level competitions recently? So it seems the ISSF is providing the music for you. The crowd cheering during the finals, now that's something else! Singing in your head would keep your conscious mind occupied, and let your unconscious do the shooting. As long a...

Re: Anybody have a new FAS 6004?

I was really tempted to buy one, but this thread at the Classic Air Pistol Association forum turned me off. A user stripped the rear sight adjustment screw. Mind you, it's only one user, on the internet . Meanwhile, there are probably hundreds of satisfied owners that think I should get one... Oh, t...

Re: Why Santa would be put in jail under Irish Firearms Law

Here in Canada, the limit had long been understood to be 500 fps (152 meters per second) or 5.7 joules for air guns to become firearms. Above that, the requirements are the same as powder-burning firearms. All was well and people enjoyed their 495 fps guns freely. However, a court case in November 2...

Just use rechargeable nimh batteries, they don't leak. The newer "LSD" have awesome capacity and stay charged even if not used for long periods. Look for Eneloop.
