Re: MONTHLY AP LEAGUE MARCH 2022

March comes in like a … disappointing result.

524 (85, 90, 88, 87, 88, 86)
Pardini K60 w/ Nygord TurboComp
RWS Meisterkugeln
10m
paper targets
55 M

I’ll definitely be at it again tomorrow when I’ve had more rest.

Re: Walther FP repair questions

Let me know if that happens to be the case, as I’d likely be interested in some of them. I find myself with a growing collection and loving them all … Funny that as dead as FP is here in the ‘States, it’s still practiced and matches well attended in Europe, Asia, and Australia. I started a FP group ...

Walther FP repair questions

So, I picked up a Walther FP with the electronic trigger recently. It was non-functioning, so I got it for a very reasonable price. I figured I could do some tinkering and see if I had any luck getting it to go bang again. Essentially, I did just that, finding a broken wire that I resoldered and add...

Re: Inband left US market

Yes, unfortunately it’s true that InBand decided pull out of the USA to focus on servicing European markets. A lot was at play and in flux regarding the decision, but when Kruger USA folded, it was kind of the straw that broke the camel’s back. Really a drag, as the OMNI was just finally coming onli...

That golden moment …

When you shoot 9.7, 10.3, 10.7, 10.1 in row with your Free Pistol … and think, “Man! I’m in the zone!” …

… and then finish the target with an 85 anyway.

Oh well, it was indeed an 85, but with sugar on top.

Re: The New ISSF Air Pistol Finals Format

It being dropped from Olympics has honestly made it more attractive to me personally. Exactly because it got rid of the finals. It's not like you need to resolve many ties in free pistol anyway. Especially not in national and lower level competition. Yeah, I’ve been thinking about trying to hold a ...

Re: The New ISSF Air Pistol Finals Format

IMHO a change for the worse, absolutely. I hadn’t really thought much about it before, but I agree with Grippy on the overall negative effect that being an Olympic sport has had on most of our precision shooting disciplines. Big-bore matches long gone. Running game, ditto. Free pistol ( that still s...

Re: Does anyone know the cost of an Electronic Target System

Might want to check the new Athena. From CMP Shooting News July 7, 2020: "Introducing Athena: The World's First Affordable Electronic Scoring Target - The future of competitive shooting is with ESTs. This is clear. Up until today, though, the ESTs on the market have had one undeniable flaw - t...

Re: Gallery Pistol Question

Yeah, I always enjoyed Gallery Pistol back in the ‘80s & ‘90s. I think the last time I was active with it was right after the turn of the century ... ‘01 or ‘02. I was on a winter postal league in Maine, and we had a pretty good turnout every week for “postal night.” Still shooting the same Supe...

Gallery Pistol Question

Just wondering how many of us on here shoot 50' smallbore "gallery" pistol anymore? I always enjoyed it, and am getting back into again after several years, but I'm wondering how many others still practice and/or compete in this sport?

Inquiring mind(s) want(s) to know ...

Re: Is it just me or is this forum slowly dying ?

Yeah, it’s sad to admit, but the writing was on the wall for the precision disciplines when they began losing interest at the club level back in the ‘80s. I know for a fact I am the only international style pistol shooter at my club, and its membership numbers nearly 1000. But even for the conventio...

Re: Inband Air electronic target review

Hey Ramon: I am interested in this using bullseye type targets and 22 LR. It says that it is ok to use 22LR but I am wondering if I ever have that errant shot that is outside of the scoring window and hits the front face plate. what is the gauge or thickness of that front plate and can it handle a ...

Re: Inband Air electronic target review

Great work on a very thorough review Ramon, and some good food for thought on future features and updates. I represent the InBand EST Systems here in the USA (www.inband.us), and also shoot regularly in multiple disciplines, both ISSF and Conventional. These are a great option for individuals and cl...
